the lowdown with motown
Two days ago I bought over the phone my G1. I know, I know I know there are hundreds of thousands of people who have the phone now and are enjoying every aspect of it, but I live in the Detroit metro area. I called several T-mobile stores and they all have the phone, yet for some reason they cant sell it till Tuesday the 28th. the screwy thing about this is I cant think of a single reason why this is the case. I could understand if they were rolling out the phones area by area... or if they were just waiting for 3G service in the area, (by the way November 1st is the tentative date for 3G in the DMA) but there not. as of now I have no clue why T-mo is holding it back.

good news for you, bad news for me.
So according to androidguys.com the first shipment of G1 phones are on there way, this is great news for the lucky few who were able to preorder. I and many others are going to have to wait. However Thursday when my contract expires I will be on a mad dash to find one. Then, and only then will I be happy.

1.5 huh
It looks like the G1 is going to continue to be a success and sell 3 times the amount of phones originally expected by t-mobile. reports came out today showed that they have tripled there initial order to 1.5 million unites from manufacturer HTC. only time will tell weather this phone is going to be a true I-phone/blackberry killer or just a 3rd tier consumer phone, but this must be a promising sign for T-mo and HTC considering they expected to do 2 million by sometime next year.
couple this with expanding 3G service and this has all the makings of a great rivalry.

let the fan boys come out of the wood work
Hello every one (and by that i mean no one) I am very happy to finally start this blog off. For some time now i have been splashed in the face like a hooker getting a money shot. I am tired of I-phone/pod/tunes/mac users. To be perfectly honest with you I'm not sure if they like apple's products more or as much as the smell of there own farts, but there is one thing I do know. There is finally competition on the marketplace.
OK OK I know what your going to say, there already is with blackberry's and windows mobile and the few others, but, and this is a big but, there is finally one priced reasonably and designed for the average Joe.
Any how I just thought that I would start this out with my mission statement, my purpose for this blog if you will. My intention is not to bring you the latest news but to bring commentary as well as reviews of the apps that will be on the G1 and hopefully other android phones. Make no mistake about this blog its going to be about as fair and balanced as fox news when it comes to android... but I think I can give reasonable advice when it comes to the apps for it. people have been raving about some of them, but how many of them are worth while?
